More about the book
The HERKULES project, initiated by the German Federal Armed Forces in December 2006, aims to modernize its non-military information and communications technology. A consortium of Siemens Business Services and IBM will enhance data centers, software, and communication networks across over 1,500 locations, impacting 140,000 PCs and 300,000 telephones. The project addresses the financial challenges of such a large-scale upgrade, as existing defense budgets were insufficient for the necessary investment in modern IT infrastructure.
