More about the book
The book explores the relationship between political inclusion and ideological moderation, challenging the notion that political behavior alone indicates moderation. Through a comparative analysis of the Islamic Action Front in Jordan and the Islah party in Yemen, it reveals that the IAF has embraced moderation by engaging in pluralist politics, while Islah has not, due in part to differences in internal organization and justification of practices. Drawing on extensive field research, the author presents a new theory of ideological moderation and insights into influential Islamist parties.
