More about the book

Fred Merrick White, born in 1859 in England, initially pursued a career in law but shifted to writing after his father's imprisonment in the late 1880s. By 1891, he was a successful journalist and author, marrying Clara Jane Smith in 1892 and raising two sons. His prolific writing, characterized by imaginative science fiction and adventure, flourished during the early 20th century, especially influenced by his sons' experiences in World War I. His later works explored the struggles of returning soldiers. White passed away in Barnstaple in 1935.
