Terrestrial African Orchids

Focusing on the rich biodiversity of orchids, this work features 128 species collected by John S. Ball in the 1950s, primarily in Zimbabwe's Melsetter area. The collection highlights orchids that are also found in the Flora of Tropical East Africa and KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Edited by his sister Jane Browning, with assistance from Esmé Hennessy, the book builds on Ball's previous research, showcasing the unique epiphytic orchids of Southern Africa and their ecological significance.
