The plot follows Hal Jordan, a guardian of Sector 2814, as he embarks on a mission to investigate a mysterious crater on Mars alongside two teammates from the Green Lantern Corps. Their investigation leads them to the dangerous planet Ysmault, where they fall into a trap set by Atrocitus, the leader of the Red Lanterns. Hal faces a critical choice: succumbing to his anger could empower Atrocitus, threatening not just his companions but the entire Earth solar system.
