Born into a wealthy family in 1867, John Galsworthy initially pursued law but found his passion in writing. His secret affair with Ada Nemesis Pearson Cooper led to their marriage after her divorce. Galsworthy's literary career began with short stories, but he gained prominence with plays and the Forsyte trilogy, exploring themes of social class and moral codes. A champion for various causes, he served during WWI and received the Nobel Prize in 1932. Galsworthy passed away in 1933, leaving a legacy of challenging societal norms through his works.
