More about the book
Born in Dublin in 1856, George Bernard Shaw began his career in an estate office before transitioning to writing, initially as a critic focused on theatre. His advocacy for realistic drama helped transform Victorian theatre, while his socialist beliefs shaped his literary voice. Shaw's journey as a playwright took off with his first successful play in 1892, leading to notable works like "Saint Joan." He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925 and an Academy Award in 1938, making him the only individual to achieve both honors. He passed away in 1950 at the age of 94.
