Die Dissertation untersucht die relative Bioverfügbarkeit von drei neuen Eisenphosphatmodifikationen im Vergleich zu Eisen(II)-sulfat-heptahydrat. Hierzu wurden zwei in vitro-Experimente, darunter ein Zellkulturmodell (CaCo-II), sowie zwei in vivo-Studien an Schweinen durchgeführt. Die analysierten Modifikationen umfassen Eisen(III)-diphosphat, Eisen(III)-orthophosphat und eine feinst vermahlene Eisen(III)-orthophosphatpaste, um deren Wirksamkeit und Bioverfügbarkeit zu bewerten.
