Barriers to Independent Study in First Year Undergraduates

Focusing on the barriers to independent study among first-year engineering students, this mixed-method case study at the Dublin Institute of Technology involved interviews with experienced lecturers and surveys of students. It explores reasons for high dropout rates, particularly the impact of insufficient study habits on academic performance.
