More about the book
The life of Fred Merrick White, born in 1859 in England, reflects a transition from aspiring solicitor to successful author. After his father's imprisonment in the late 1880s, White turned to writing, becoming a prolific journalist and novelist by the 1890s. His works often featured imaginative science and adventure, influenced by the societal changes following World War I, during which his sons served. Notable titles include "The Seed of Empire," which captures trench warfare. White spent his later years in Devon before passing away in 1935.
