More about the book
Born into wealth, John Galsworthy pursued law before turning to writing, influenced by friendships with notable figures like Joseph Conrad. His secret affair with Ada Nemesis Pearson Cooper lasted a decade before they married in 1905. Galsworthy gained recognition for his plays and novels, particularly "The Forsyte Saga," which critiques the upper-middle class's insular attitudes. His works address social issues, including women's rights and moral codes, while he also engaged in humanitarian efforts during World War I. Galsworthy received the Nobel Prize in 1932, passing away in 1933.
