His secret affair with Ada Nemesis Pearson Cooper culminated in marriage after her divorce. Galsworthy's literary career began with short stories, but he gained prominence with plays and novels, particularly "The Forsyte Saga," which critiques upper-middle-class society. An advocate for social reform, he addressed issues like women's rights and censorship. He received the Nobel Prize in 1932, shortly before his death in 1933.
