It highlights the formation of titania on titanium surfaces and its cytocompatibility, while addressing its lack of antibacterial properties, which contribute to implant failures. The study proposes a novel approach to create thick titania and conducting polymer coatings through anodization, aiming to improve corrosion resistance and incorporate antibacterial properties without compromising mammalian cell function.
