St. Irvyne; or, The Rosicrucian

Set in a Gothic backdrop, the story follows Wolfstein, a solitary wanderer who meets Ginotti, an alchemist from the Rosicrucian Order. Ginotti's quest to reveal the secret of immortality intertwines with themes of isolation and the supernatural. Written by Percy Bysshe Shelley during his time at Oxford, this 1810 novella showcases his early exploration of dark romanticism. It was later reprinted in various editions, highlighting its enduring significance in the literary canon alongside Shelley's earlier work, Zastrozzi.
