Focusing on the experiences of marginalized youth in host cities, the book investigates the impact of the Olympic Games on their lives, particularly in Vancouver 2010 and London 2012. Through ethnographic research and analysis of policy documents, it reveals the disparity between the promised benefits of social housing and employment opportunities and the harsh realities of increased policing and reduced social assistance.
