More about the book
In the early nineteenth century, Thomas Jefferson sought to create a simplified gospel by compiling verses from the four canonical gospels, eliminating elements he deemed extraneous. This unique narrative focuses solely on the words of Jesus and was never published during Jefferson's lifetime. It was later inherited by his grandson and printed for the first time in the early twentieth century. The original manuscript, known as "the Jefferson Bible," is preserved at the United States National Museum in Washington.
