The story follows Christine Allen, an Olympic pairs figure skating hopeful, as she trains in Cabot Cove with former gold medalist Brian Devlin and her partner, Russian skater Alexei Olshansky. Tensions rise when a series of suspicious accidents culminate in the death of a skater, prompting Jessica Fletcher to investigate. As she delves deeper, she suspects that someone may be committing murder to sabotage the competition.
