Geometric modelling of engineered barrier system for waste isolation

This work explores the creation of a geometrical model for a hypothetical nuclear waste repository using GoCAD software, compatible with the RockFlow FEM package. It provides an overview of significant international projects and regulations regarding nuclear safety, highlighting the complexities involved in planning a repository for spent nuclear fuel. The study aims to bridge the gap between software modeling and practical applications in nuclear waste management.
