More about the book
Research conducted in Queensland highlights the struggles of students with learning disabilities, revealing their general unhappiness in school settings. A Rasch analysis showed that teachers held negative perceptions and lacked understanding of these students, which did not improve even with increased awareness. Interviews with students, parents, and teachers indicated a disconnect between perceived school inclusivity and actual experiences. The study concludes with recommendations to enhance teacher capacity and shift school culture to better support affected students and their families.
