L. M. Montgomery, a prominent Canadian author, found inspiration in her childhood surroundings and imagination, leading her to publish her first poem at a young age. Despite facing numerous rejections, her perseverance culminated in the 1905 release of "Anne of Green Gables," which became an instant success and established her writing career. Montgomery married Reverend Ewan Macdonald in 1911 and had three sons. After her husband's retirement, they relocated to Toronto, where she lived until her death in 1942, later buried in her beloved Prince Edward Island.
