Legal Reasoning in Equality Interpretation. An Analysis of the Indian Constitution

Focusing on the concept of equality in the Indian Constitution, this research paper explores its implications for gender justice and feminism. Through a chronological case analysis and deductive reasoning, it examines the debates from the Constituent Assembly and the courts' interpretations of equality provisions. Additionally, it assesses how these interpretations contribute to advancing gender justice and evaluates the relationship between Indian laws and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), culminating in significant findings from the analysis.
