Authors
More about the book
Exploring the dynamics of family solidarity among migrants, this study investigates how migration influences intergenerational relationships. It examines whether family cohesion evolves for second-generation migrants and the potential cultural conflicts that may arise, potentially becoming burdensome. The research utilizes data from the 2014 German Ageing Survey to empirically analyze these questions, following an introduction to relevant theories of family solidarity, acculturation, and cultural conflict. The paper concludes with insights and future implications based on the findings.
