This is a biography of Henry Ware Jr., a prominent Unitarian theologian and preacher in the early nineteenth century. John Ware, the author and Henry's cousin, provides an intimate account of Henry's upbringing, education, and religious career. In addition to his theological work, Henry Ware Jr. was also an active abolitionist and supporter of women's rights, and these aspects of his character are explored in the book as well.
