More about the book
The book presents a newly researched and expertly engraved edition of Brahms's orchestrated Liebeslieder-Walzer, originally inspired by the positive reception of his first set in 1869. Conductor Ernst Rudorff encouraged Brahms to orchestrate eight selections for a concert in Berlin in 1870, with an additional piece later added to the Op. 65 set. This edition by Richard W. Sargeant, Jr. highlights the historical context and musical significance of these works.
