Focusing on the concept of Design in academic literacy, this study explores how students and teachers navigate a multimodal approach to literacy beyond traditional reading and writing. It conceptualizes the learning environment as a game, where students engage with diverse content from texts and lectures to meet assessment criteria established by professors. Success is measured through grades, reflecting the alignment of their work with these criteria. This research aligns with the Multiliteracies Project, emphasizing the dynamic interplay of rules and principles in college courses.
