When the alien fires explode across the sky, Ben Richardson races for safety along with everyone else. But as the choking clouds threaten to extinguish all life on the planet, Ben realizes the fires in the sky are only the first assault of the malevolent, extraterrestrial adversary. Trapped in a remote cabin by the poisonous air, the alien enemy launches an attack against Ben in an attempt to get him to destroy himself and his wife Ella. But the attack fails.
