The author's course of business and personal travel has taken him to seven continents and well over a hundred countries in over fifty years, and to some venues many dozens of times. His love of geography and wildlife has led him to explore the Polar Regions, the African savanna, and the Amazon rain forest. His diverse interests in history, archaeology, technology, and the environment have given him an integrated perspective on the nature of our planet and how our present situation came to be.
