Hello, I am Feynner: Growing Up in the Rainforests of Costa Rica

Growing up in the Rainforests of Costa RicaFeynner Arias grew up in the jungles of southern Costa Rica, on Osa Peninsula, learning to hunt and fish from his Grandmother Eliija in order to feed the family. From a very early age, he learned the ways of animals, how they behaved, which were dangerous, which would make a good meal. These skills would serve him well as he was kicked out of the house and on his own at the age of eleven. As he moved from one job to another, from sugar cane fields to banana plantations, Feynner used his personality and intuition to survive. Along the way, he made many friends and learned how to build roads, operate machinery and use laboratory equipment. He went from clearing land with a machete to conducting experiments with scientists. But he never forgot his family, and eventually was reunited with them at what is now Corcovado National Park on Osa Peninsula.
