One of the ways that I know a book is really good is when I can hear the author's voice in my head as I read. Raw Voices is a collection of many voices in the stories and poetry of seemingly ordinary women. As I hear them tell their stories in their own words, I am in awe. These women are mothers, wives, business women, professional writers, poets, storytellers. They thrived through many challenging experiences and lived to share some of them with us. We worked very hard to maintain the authenticity of the story or poem as it was submitted. We wanted to make certain that we did not edit away anyone's intent, silence anyone's voice.
