More about the book
"By April of 1970, President Nixon's program of Vietnamization was well underway and more than 60,000 US troops had been withdrawn. An intensive training program to turn the ARVN into a self-sufficient fighting force was underway. Operation Texas Star was launched to buy time for the ARVN to complete their training. The mission was given to the 101st Airborne Division, the only American unit still on the offensive in all of South Vietnam. From April through August, units of the 101st aggressively went after the NVA in the jungle. When the operation ended in September, 1970, the NVA 324B Divivion had been driven back into Laos with heavy losses and the ARVN had gained precious time to complete their training and move into their new role of aggressive action against the North Vietnamese invaders." -- from back cover.
