More about the book

There was internal turmoil in the military of the mid seventies. The physical "war" in Vietnam was over, the humiliation continued and was just beginning for others. Suddenly the Army found itself having to decide what to do with a sudden influx of females. The hard-core "career" soldiers justifiably thought women had no business in their business. They had been the traditional protectors of freedom for everyone for centuries. Nonetheless, we stuck it out. Those who were willing to work hard and never fall back on their gender as an excuse not to do their job were rewarded with great experiences. I was such a soldier in the last days of the W.A.C.'s (Women's Army Corps).
