A specially built Viking ship takes its mostly female crew on an adventure of adventures. As they navigate the ocean on their arduous mission they endure sorrow and delight accompanied by fear, apprehension, and even gratification. They build new relationships as they are buffeted about the sea and experience love and tragedy in varying degrees all the while learning a great deal about themselves and their comrades. In the end it all works out, sort of.
