Kathy Ryan, a rebellious, strong-willed young woman had left home when she was eighteen, leaving her infant daughter and a Christian family behind. She was sure she could make it on her own. Seven years later, she finds herself alone and unable to pay her debts. In desperation she calls her brother for help. Her intent was to get enough money to take a bus to a new town and start over.
