More about the book

This volume records the letters of Lowell John Fuglie (12/11/1957, Ulen, Minnesota, USA 4/26/2010, Québec City, Québec, Canada) wrote to his family and friends during the time he spent in Zaire from 1982 to 1985, plus a journal he kept of his four-month backpacking trip through Asia at the end of this African tour. The idea for this book was inspired by LowellÊs wife, Caroline Olivier, who also supplied many of the photos for it. LowellÊs writings, together with a brief introduction and postscript, were complied by his brother, Keith Fuglie. It is intended primarily for LowellÊs friends and family, and especially so that his daughter Laure Marianne Olivier Fuglie and nephews and nieces Luke, Denay, Burlin, Cole, Karinna, Christopher and Anikka can know something more about the remarkable person who was their father or uncle.
