John Goodfellow felt wondrously free as he walked through his high school gate for the last time. A new world awaited him without the restrivtive authority of home, school or church. By his early twenties he was trapped in alcoholism, drug addiction and criminal activity. Physically ravaged, his life self-destructing around him, John began a desperate search for meaning and purpose in life. His quest took him on a pilgrimage to the East. On the way he found what he was looking for, but not where he expected to find it. What John Goodfellow experienced led him back home to face the consequences of his earlier lifestyle, and true freedom.
