More about the book

The early Christian Church, in its infancy, was nurtured and grew through heroic acts of faith and courage of its followers. The deeds of men are generally known but those of women are few and far less known. A few paltry lines in ancient tomes attest to this. This lack of knowledge contributes to the attitude that women are second to men in spirit and strength and are of less importance. But, in truth, in Christ there is no east or west nor male or female.Through this story of a composite female martyr, it is hoped that the reader will gain in knowledge and empathy for these women who achieved great deeds of courage, strength, and faith. May the reader know that these women were no different than we are, that they were loving, vulnerable, with the same strength and weakness, living their humble lives of denials and sufferings, of hopes and dreams. And of yearnings for peace and justice just as we do now. May this story affirm the equality of the sexes in spirit and strength.
