The title tale is set in Rio de Janeiro, other locales ranging from Taormina to Des Moines to Appalachia to Santa Fe. Among the protagonists are a deaf mute, ice-skating Russian demigod, heavily tattooed hillbilly, bodybuilder ex-Marine security guard and two Roman sex-slaves. The novella, “Secrets of the Mystery Tomb,” tells of the 1926 discovery in Egypt by professor/student male lovers of the intact burial of one of antiquities most notorious personalities.
