More about the book

This book contains the list of all the members of the Order of Masons who served in the Forces during the Great War. It begins with The Grand Master s Lodge, Dublin, of which there were 27 members, and then takes each Lodge in turn and lists the members in alphabetical order, identifying those who died and those wounded or gassed. Against each name is the rank and unit (not in all cases) or service with any honours and awards. Every Lodge has a number and they are shown here in numerical order, e.g., Lodge 1, Cork; Lodge 149 Ballymena; Lodge 397 Curragh Camp (249 members). The Lodges are not restricted to Ireland, there is. for example, Lodge 361 Pretoria, Lodge 298 Ceylon and Lodge 319 Bombay. There are also regimental Lodges such as Lodge 570, 5th Dragoon Guards and Lodge 157, West African Regiment though not all members belong to the regiment.
