Morgan and her cousin, Marcy, have a chance meeting with the ambitious, handsome young man, Samuel Stone, who has just moved to the area. Before they know it, their lives are tangled with his. Though he chooses to marry Marcy, to accomplish his ambitions, he falls in love with her cousin, Morgan, who is determined to stand by him, regardless of his wayward ways.
