More about the book
The rapid sequence of important inventions and developments in the past thirty years has decisively affected technical progress and development trends in printing technology. As the field becomes more and more complex and specialised, so does the need increase for effective signposting to aid the interpreters, translators, engineers, technicians, students, scientists and all others connected with the graphic arts. The requirements of practice were given primary consideration in the compilation of the material. By systematically evaluating specialised books, journals, printing and other research reports, catalogues of spares, advertising material and other sources, the authors have collected some 14,000 terms. It can thus be said that the dictionary has been compiled from practice for practice. The following fields have all been included: Composition; Platemaking; Relief Printing; Flat-bed Printing; Rotogravure Printing; Flexographic Printing; Diestamping Printing; Collotype Printing; Machines used in Paper Production and Printing; Equipment of Graphic Enterprises; Reproduction Technology; Bookbinding; Measuring, Steerage and Control Technology; Materials, etc.
