The performance of Local Authorities is vital for provision of important services such as Solid waste management in their area of jurisdiction. This publication discuses how Eldoret municipal council like many other Local Authorities are faced with a great challenge in Managing the waste generated and shows possibilities of adopting an integrated solid waste management approach to curb this menace. As a solution based approach the book provides information on the capacity of the Municipality, existing private waste collectors and CBOs and the roles they currently play.
