Abstract: Eleven papers from a symposium on oral physiology research are presented in 4 categories; the papers review past and present experiments in the areas of: dental plaque, diet, fluoride, and saliva. Within each group individual papers address specific aspects of the topic; some papers overlap other groups (e.g., "Fluoride metabolics in dental plaque, bacteria, and man"). The work is useful as a reference tool; a subject index and many tables and charts are provided. In addition, the papers also point out the direction current research is taking. (kbc)
