More about the book
It is well known that the Enlightenment fought prejudice and saw itself as being critical of prejudice. However what has been forgotten is what the Enlightenment understood by prejudice. This work studies the philosophical theory of prejudices from their origins at the beginning of the modern era to their decline with the end of the Enlightenment. It focuses on the philosophy of the German Enlightenment which developed a previously unknown variety of theories on prejudice.
