Dan's Box is one of the books in the Becoming a Reader stage of Cambridge Reading. It forms part of a set of nine books in the Fantasy strand written and illustrated by John Prater. Each story features a child who finds a large box. When the box is opened a fantasy character emerges and the child and the character have an adventure together, always with an amusing twist.
