Das Kompendium des ʿAlī Ufuḳī, MS Paris, Bibliothèque Nationale, Turc 292, ist in mehrerlei Hinsicht eine außergewöhnliche Quelle. Das höchst individuelle Manuskript wurde zwischen den 1630er und 1670er Jahren von dem osmanischen Hofmusiker und Dolmetscher ʿAlī Ufuḳī (Wojciech/Albert Bobowski/Bobovius), einem gebürtigen Polen, verfasst und stellt eine erstaunliche transkulturelle Leistung dar. Im Kontext von mündlicher Komposition und Überlieferung, aus der ʿAlī Ufuḳī Repertoire in ein fremdes Notationssystem übersetzte, spielt das Kompendium eine zentrale Rolle in der osmanischen Musikgeschichte. Es enthält neben medizinischen Texten und Aufzeichnungen diversen Inhalts Notationen und Gesangstexte der unterschiedlichsten Gattungen, Stile und Traditionen sowie zahlreiche Anmerkungen und Erläuterungen. In Einheit mit der in Vorbereitung befindlichen kritischen Edition widmet sich der vorliegende Band der Analyse und Kontextualisierung der musikbezogenen Inhalte von Turc 292.
