In the last quarter of twentieth century, two important processes have taken place at the worldwide scale. First on is the globalization and the other one is the collapse of the Warsaw Treaty Organization and USSR. As a result of globalization, any economic, political or socio-cultural crisis in the world affected the rest of the world very rapidly and deeply, and the events that followed took a multi-dimensional fashion. The collapse of the Warsaw Treaty Organization and USSR resulted in the vacuum of power in different parts of the world. With the direction of the only super power USA, a New World Order has been established. As the New International Law Norms, new values and coalitions are formed by New World Order, and significant changes in the existing institutional structure took place. The book analyzes these changes by selected countries.

Globalization can be conceptualized as a basic transformation in the scale of human social organization that links distant communities and expands the reach of power relations across regions and continents. Contemporary Globalization is a multi-dimensional, uneven and asymmetric process. It's transforming but not burying the Westphalian idea of sovereign statehood. A conceptual change in our thinking about world politics from a primarily geopolitical perspective to the perspective of globalized or global politics of worldwide social relations is required. Global Politics is more accurately to be described as distorted global politics because it is afflicted by significant power asymmetries. The presented volume provides an interdisciplinary approach on global structures and transition - from economic, computer, social and political science perspectives.

The book is intended to serve as an introduction to the foreign policy of Middle Eastern countries. In order to create compatibility of the individual contributions, the essays have a similar structure. The following determinants are examined in relation to the foreign policy of 13 states under discussion - Basic historical data regarding foreign policy and the applicable international environment; basic factors determining foreign policy; decision processes for foreign policy; security policy after 9/11/2001 and perspectives on future foreign policy. At the conclusion of each article there is a select bibliography. No one ideal approach exists in the analysis of foreign policy - happily - and the individual authors have submitted many different modes of analysis.
