In order to create compatibility of the individual contributions, the essays have a similar structure. The following determinants are examined in relation to the foreign policy of 13 states under discussion - Basic historical data regarding foreign policy and the applicable international environment; basic factors determining foreign policy; decision processes for foreign policy; security policy after 9/11/2001 and perspectives on future foreign policy. At the conclusion of each article there is a select bibliography. No one ideal approach exists in the analysis of foreign policy - happily - and the individual authors have submitted many different modes of analysis.
