James Edward Talmage was a notable English chemist, geologist, and religious leader, recognized for his contributions to both science and the LDS Church. Serving as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from 1911 until his death, he also held academic positions at Brigham Young Academy and the University of Utah.
