The novel concept of a particle receiver for high-temperature concentrating solar applications was developed and investigated in the present work. The so-called Centrifugal Particle Receiver (CentRec) uses small bauxite particles as absorber, heat transfer and storage media at the same time. Due to advantageous optical and thermal properties, the particles can be heated up to 1000 degree Celsius without sintering in the storage. High thermal efficiencies at high outlet temperatures are expected indicating a promising way for cost reduction in solar power tower applications. A prototype in laboratory scale was designed, built and tested in order to demonstrate the feasibility and potential of the proposed concept. The expected simple control capability of the receiver could be verified and the target temperature of 900 degree Celsius successfully demonstrated. A thermal efficiency of > 85% is calculated by a validated corresponding numerical model for a particle outlet temperature of 900 degree Celsius and a design power of 1 MW/m².

I Ching Wisdom Volume Two also contains more of Wu Wei's delightful Chinese ink drawings done in the Zen style and profound sayings drawn from the I Ching's deepest wisdom. Wu Wei has added his enlightened comments to these sayings to help us apply the practical, timeless wisdom of the I Ching to our lives. The I Ching's insights, says Wu Wei, help us steer a safer, clearer course through the uncharted journey of our lives, teach us to recognize and avoid the pitfalls that beset the path of the unenlightened, and show us how to "soar to the heights of success and good fortune."
An indispensable companion to the I Ching, one of the world's most profound sources of universal wisdom.I Ching Readings is the only book ever published that shares the real-life stories of people who have consulted the I Ching―their questions, the answers they received, and the events that followed. Wu Wei's informative stories show how the I Ching can unerringly guide us to great success and how misinterpreted guidance can lead lives off track. In this insightful work, you will learn how to understand and interpret answers you receive from the I Ching and, just as importantly, how to phrase your questions to obtain the best possible answers.“We are constantly communicating with the Universe,” says Wu Wei, “some of us knowingly, others of us unknowingly, and the Universe is constantly communicating with us.... When we use the I Ching to ask a question, it's as if we are writing a letter to the Universe…. The answers we get are always for our highest and best good.”“It is a great comfort,” he says, “to know that no matter how monumental our problem, there is a solution to it that will put us in a better situation than we were before the problem arose.”
