More about the book

The International Workshop on Temporal Databases, held in Zurich, Switzerland on 17-18 September 1995, gathered researchers and database practitioners to discuss advancements in temporal data management. Following a previous workshop in Arlington, Texas in June 1993, which aimed to develop a framework for commercial implementations of temporal database features, the Zurich event sought to broaden participation and scope. The Arlington workshop, sponsored by ARP AlNSF, led to the formation of the TSQL2 Language Design Committee, resulting in the TSQL2 Language Specification, a glossary of terminology, and a test suite for temporal database queries. The Zurich workshop's Call for Papers aimed to attract high-quality, contemporary research from around the globe, encouraging contributions that built upon the significant findings from Arlington. The selected papers presented at the Zurich workshop reflect the latest developments in the field and contribute to the ongoing discourse in temporal database research.
